I never thought I’d be waking up to attend a friend’s funeral this early in life. I feel so sad about losing this friend, not because I knew him way back, actually he’s a new friend. But we were the ones he spent his last night with. What scares and saddens me the most was that 4 hours before he passed away, I was beso-ing him good bye, thanking him for the night and for helping me back-up my car from the parking lot in front of his bar. He was so happy that night. I have pictures to prove it. This was indeed a surprise to all of us.
No matter how long or how short you’ve known the person, when you’ve already shared happiness and laughs with them, they’re in every way connected to you. We had so many plans pa. Tonight was going to be another friend’s birthday salubong at his bar. Then I would be celebrating my birthday there as well. To think that I was about to text him when we got the bad news…
Gone too soon. But I hope he’s in a better place where he’s happier and safer. Dear God, please take care of our friend. Thank you.
